Depending on the length of your hair, you may find it easier to trim away some weight with the scissors before using the clippers.
Once clipped, trim any rogue hairs with the scissors and remove the rubber bands. Tidy up the middle portion of hair as necessary with the scissors, and simply style with your chosen product. To get a crisp, set look; use a comb in place of your fingers.
